Default Greetings and question about ziebarting

Now that I actually drove the blue 2012 6mt that I am buying I feel more legitimate posting. Does someone have an opinion about Ziebarting? The whole package is
expensive ($1000), but maybe for a new and distinctively attractive car it would make
sense. Especially with the salty winter arriving.

I have done ziebart to two of my vehicles all though a bit pricey. well worth the money. I got the diamond gloss for the outside and the undercoating. Plus the scotch guard spray for the inside interior. I live in upstate N.Y. and they salt the hell out of the roads during winter. When I traded in my last car the dealer was amazed how glossy the paint was.

My parents have used Ziebart for their undercoating before; great stuff. Salt ftl.

I've always been a fan of washing the exterior regularly, and Krown rust control annually. That's all our family has ever done.
My father still drives his 1986 Lincoln, which as almost no rust or body work, dsepite being his only daily driver, on Ontario's heavily salted roads. So i'd say that's a pretty good recommendation. At least it is another option to consider.
Oh, it's less than $100/year, too. Keep in mind that any system with a warranty (no experience with Ziebart, but betting they are the same) will require you to go in for an annual inspection, with the requirement to pay for more product if they find something they don't like.

oh i was wondering what this was until i understood it was rust proofing. it all depends on whether the city you live in uses SALT or not to de-ice the roads during the winter. if they do then i strongly recommend it if you plan on keeping the car more than 8-10yrs. because that's usually when you start seeing the effects of not treating it.

I also use Krown here in Ontario and they are definitely the best here. my 1991 Honda Prelude is still RUST FREE. not a single Spec of rust anywhere, not even the underbody. But I also don't drive it in the winter lol.

Great input, folks. Appreciate it. Good heads up about the warranty requirements. I decided to go for the complete package, including the interior. I do expect to keep the car ten years. The promotional materials for Ziebart indicate road noise might be reduced as well, but I'm not sure I'll be able to tell the difference.

Ziebart also requires yearly inspections Crz-Canadian.
