Default Permagrin!

On the Porsche forums, we had a term called "permagrin."

It refers to the joy one gets from driving their car, every time they do it.
Porsches definitely provide permagrin! So much so that I thought I'd always have to drive one to be happy.

But now, almost a full year into my CRZ ownership - I am delighted to report that the CRZ delivers permagrin! I love this crazy little car just as much as I loved the Porsches.

It's a real joy to enjoy the car so much while it's reasonably priced and thrifty on gas!

So how about you? Anyone else get "permagrin" from their CRZ?

I understand. Every time I get in my car, I say (out loud, even if I am alone), "I just love this little car" and then I

I got a bad case of permagrin. While Porsches give thrills, this car has character. It's more than just driving it. Whenever my wife comes back from a trip in the Z, I grill her for a full report.

^^ Agree! The car is very 'interactive' and when I drive the RSX I'm always looking to see how I'm doing and what my charge state is (fail)... and why does the engine keep running as stoplights (double fail) !?

I drove my husband's Grand Cherokee Friday and it was so boring. No pretty lights, no silence at stop lights, no looking down and saying "whoa! I am doing 72 mph!".

It got me where I wanted to be, but it wasn't pleasant getting there!

Thanks for introducing that term to us, Derek. I think "permagrin" pretty much sums CR-Z ownership up perfectly.

I saw a lovely grey 911 Turbo while walking through the parking lot yesterday, and mouthed "nice car" to the driver. She smiled back and gave me a wave, but it didn't make me think any less of my car. In fact, as she drove past the CR-Z in the lot, I wound up staring at my car instead of watchting her leave.

Permagrin, indeed!

Derek, I don't know if I would call it permagrin but I definitely love my car.

The CRZ delivers permagrin for me and also for everyone who rides with me. The other night instead of parking like a normal person I whipped the car sideways with a handbrake turn and let the car slide into the parking spot. My girlfriend riding with me: "Did that really just happen?"
My little brother watching from his MR2:
And thats how I was declared officially the coolest person ever.
I love my CRZ.
