Default Ignition Key slot illumination

Many cars have the ignition key slot light up when the automatic interior lights come on with the door open.

Any ideas how this could be done with the CRZ.

Like a fluorescent substance applied to the surround !!

Childrens 'glow in the dark; stick rubbed around the area!

Luminous Paint!

p.s. I have e-mailed Honda Canada. Will post facts when answered.

Not sure if this is another "us and them" specification thing but mine is illuminated already.

I haven't timed it but mine comes on for about 20 seconda when I open the drivers door.

Time enough to sit down and insert the ignition key.

I wonder if you couldn't tap the footwell LED and add one above the key?

The ignition slot lights up as soon as the courtesy lights come on on the uk models. My glove light and lights in the bottom of the doors however do not work. Gonna pull fuse (29 I think) tomorrow morning.

It is possible that the LED is there, but covered by the lens. I will do some research next week...

I would not worry too much if you haven't got this feature on the US models. To be honest i only found out we had it after reading this thread. You can't really see it once seated because of the shape of the steering wheel. [still no glovebox light or bottom of door lights - fuse looks good. Time to make friends with my local Honda dealer]
