I checked my oil and it's a light brown and at the correct level, so I don't think it's burning oil or anything. What do other peoples tailpipes look like? I should probably mention, my only "mod" is a k&n air filter in the stock airbox. |

since carbon and water are byproducts of gasoline engines i wouldn't worry about it. Getting worried your exhaust isn't spotless inside is obscene. You should only be worried if you are getting carbon or oil buildup on your bumper or the back of your car.

Thanks!
I'm used to a bit of buildup, or more often a light gray dust sort of build up, but this is black. I was hoping to get the responses I did, though, and will accept the car runs rich (until next month when it gets tuned to run however I want )
