Default Is it just me, or is there something wrong with my CR Z

I think there's something wrong with my CR Z... But I'll get your opinion on it first. Let me know if I'm doing something wrong causing this problem to occur lol, I'm happy to get any suggestion.

I'm driving today, as usual, and the radio just turns off. .. No warning, the system just shuts off. Not a problem, I try and turn it back on. It doesn't turn on.

I'm thinking it overheated, so I let it be until my next commute, in 6hrs time.

I get in, the radio is off. Turn it on, it loads normally. Nothing seems to be wrong. 20 minutes later when I'm driving, the radio turns off again. There isn't anything on the display, and pushing any button will not do anything.

I have an opportunity to pull over into a parking lot, and I do so, park the car, and turn it off. I turn the car back on, the radio turns on. I drive for about 5 minutes, and the cheap trash turns off again...

Just my luck. I need to get service, this is ridiculous lol.

Another thing, my driver's side window motor seems to be slow or malfunctioning. Sometimes the window won't go down at all. *sigh*

The problems with the radio just started today. Is it worth going in for service?

Take it in for service - the most you'll pay is a diagnostic fee, the car is warranted for 3 years.

You should go to the dealer and get those two problems fixed. That's why you have a warranty.

i had a similar problem like yours. whenever i pressed the hazard button the radio would go off and on with the hazard signal. and my windows would have a hard time going up and down.
took it to the dealer and found out my 12v battery was defective. maybe yours could be that problem? just my guess haha

I can't make it today, but I have time tomorrow...

Guessing by gnawhdivad's issue, my battery may be faulty... But the car starts fine, wouldn't that dictate that the battery be "good enough"?

I don't know. Hopefully the dealer will be nice about it lol

and Scotty001 - you're about to hit 4,000 posts lol

what are you using on the radio when it closes (USB Stick? iPod? Radio? CD?)

if it's ipod or USB stick i can see that drive maybe having errors on it and crashing the radio computer.

@LuderCRZ - The first time in the morning I was using my USB flash drive. Its a KINGSTON technology drive, so I trust their products. Even if there was an error on the drive, that could have caused it to fail in the morning, it wasn't the only mode (for lack of better term) that I was using the radio in. In the afternoon, while listening to FM radio the thing died, so, its not just USB or iPod or radio alone. In any situation it dies.

So today in my 3 commutes I had to do, the morning drive of about 30 minutes was okay. No shut off, no error, and I'm playing music at the same level I always do... I can't remember the exact number, but its quite low.

Later in the day when I'm going home and on a few errands, the problems happen again.

My window motor struggles for a bit, like the first couple seconds, but the window goes down after that. There isn't any ice buildup yet, but I can imagine after there is, this problem will only get worse. I'm heading to the dealer tomorrow, watch the radio and window work perfectly normal when I'm there... Just my luck lol...

Dealer should still be able to check if the 12v battery is in spec (bad cell etc) ?

Good luck!

Faulty battery?? Not out of the realm of possibilities. Would make sure they also check it if they don't find another reason.

Posts - haha - yea - not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Guess I am second to Bizzy..
