Default Navi dvd update beware!!!

I had the worse time ordering the DVD NAVI update. First the girl could not update my correct city because of her Google search?? So with that she could not give me the total w/tax. Right then and there I should have stopped but I didn't. So they wacked my card for the cost of the DVD without tax and then wacked it again for the cost plus the tax for a total of $306.00 for a $149.00 DVD. The tracking number they gave me tells me that the DVD was deliverd to my home address, yesterday in St. Paul MN. I don't live in MN I live in PA. They told me that it is still on the way even tho it reads it was delivered to my home address in another state and she could not tell me the tracking number for the DVD she said is still being delivered. I hope if any of you order the OVERPRICED upgrade that you have an easier time.

I don't have a nav in my CR-Z but for my mom's new Escalade we just called and they gave us a free copy as part of a "program", but it was a one-time thing as the disc is normally $200. Same for when I had my Tahoe. I don't get why manufacturers ask so much for these, they're insanely overpriced for a DVD.

Makes you want to not buy the Navi option on a car (not that Canada got that option on the CR-Z anyway), doesn't it! First, OEM systems are dissed for being less than stellar, then they charge as much or more than what you would pay for your portable or aftermarket device (to buy, and to update). When you could just use an online service on your smartphone for free. HELLO Car makers - don't you understand that we have choices????

Makes no sense. Especially during the warranty period, they should update the maps for free - like it would cost them anything to do that at your next oil change.

Hope you get your overcharge back, and eventually see your disk, too. If you charged it to your credit card, you should be able to get it all back, based on it not being delivered.

The fact that one annual DVD update of the nav system costs more than LIFETIME updates for a Garmin GPS... and you get FOUR updates per year with Garmin... that right there makes me happy I opted to skip the factory nav system.

^ If you have money, I personally would completely re install and re wire everything with a custom system.

Unfortunately, those systems run for like 1,000. Very expensive.

I would love to start over. But several local shops wanted over 2k ,wiring all the steering wheel buttons and the Ipod port. I went with in dash before doing the research...I trusted Honda and wanted a system that work together....like voice recondition....what a joke.
live and learn....at least it works when I'm driving.

I wish our pop-up compartment was bigger, I never use that thing and I think it'd be a good spot to install a pop-up Navi if it had the space.

There were 2 CR-Z both with Navi for me to choose from, I had to go with Navi even though I have a gps that costed me the same as it costs to get the upgrade dvd. I feel like navi should come standard or just have the upgrades be free to update since you already pay so much more.
