well here is my story... in april i was rear ended by some douche who wasnt looking straight while driving. got that sorted through insurance made him fork out. few weeks later came outside to find my bumper was loose ad some clips had broken off i.e. someone had hit and run the bumper again! BUT it wasnt so bad there was no actual damage just the bumper was slightly loose from the middle. a week later found my front bumper had some small minor denting on the edge of the grill and some scracthes. last week found my front bumper to have a scrape with red paint left from which ever douche decided to hit and run my car yet and again! seriously...behold the CR-Z curse everyone! |

its just so annoying that this can happen in you own road where most the people are very friendly folk, yet they do this and not even have the decency to own up it. how many more dings, dents, scracthes do they wanna give me till i finally give up and disown the car ![]() the curse....the CURSE....THE CURSE i tellz ya! |

Though the CR-Z doesn't have bumper cameras, it does make me wonder how easy it would be to install some with a bit of onboard storage and acceleration sensors to make them automatically turn on for a minute or two after a bump. Probably enough to catch a license plate.

Hi J. £500 seems a bit steep even in London. Worth checking with the dents and scrapes guys. A complete new bumper finished in the right colour for our old Jazz was around £150, and took about 1/2 Hour to fit - easy DIY - 2 screws and a few plastic studs. The Z bumper is much more elaborate but worth checking with the dealer - you might get a pleasant surprise...

Sorry to hear about the bump. London is expensive to live in as it is, so I guess the hit and runner just didn't want to pay for the cost.
For some minor like that should not cost £500 though, that type of quote would only come from bodyshop scumbags and still do a terrible job. £100 at most would sound more like, or you can just fork out on a new bumper for a similar price. |

@jujun belive it or not that was the quote from my local honda dealer! he said i dont need a new bumper cos the scraping can be repaired even though it had gone through the laquer but the cost was £550.87 to be precise including labour. i was shocked! then again the rear bumper that i had fixed through the insurance was a job worth £880 where the bill was sent to the other guys insurance...again through my local honda dealer. i had a chat with the dude who deals with insurance claims at the honda dealer and he told me that all honda cr-z parts are very highly priced due to it being a new car and its as simple as that. SO now i either go to a independent garage and risk getting a ****ty job done or i just wait, save up and get it done properly... All these bumps, scrapes, scracthes, services etc has severely halted my modding of the car
