Default Major delay for Back order parts for repairs

In early August 2011, 5 weeks after purchase, my new parked CRZ Sport was smashed into by van. Damage extensive but not enough to call an insurance write-off so has to be repaired. Honda cannot deliver internal panel to allow repairs so car off road for 3 months now. Honda still cannot confirm delivery date....have been indicating March 2012 previously ! Sympathetic to situation in Japan but surely Honda can come up with solution ? Third party insurers will pick up repairs and hire costs which in all probability will now exceed cost of a new car. Have been very patient but now more of a disgruntled customer who is losing out for no fault of my own.

I'm waiting for a part myself. I was hoping they would just exchange it from another CR-Z they had in stock, but no. Not sure of an ETA. Maybe I'll call my dealer this weekend...

Sorry for your troubles.

They (other party) should pay your insurance premiums for the time your CR-Z
is off the road.

Thats one of the few problems with the CRZ, it sits so low that theses van / SUV people can't it behind them.
I always try to find a parking spot well away from other car, vans etc.
So far so good.

I always park well away from the doors in supermarkets etc.

A long walk is preferable to a long wait.
