Only you can justify if you really need the nav. I have an EX without a nav and I'm doing just fine, I use my phone if I need GPS. Standard radio still has USB capability which was my biggest concern, and the 6-disc changer is nice. Everyone says the nav is very outdated anyways and if you are looking into having a touchscreen radio, it's better to go the aftermarket route.
Enjoy whatever you end up choosing.

Yes with the 17's and smaller profile tires - is going to handle a little bit better. Depending on your situation - might be able to save some money buying them afterwards as opposed to a dealer option.
Suspension mods.. I'm thinking you need to search the forum and make that decision for yourself. I put on Eibachs and 20MM DRM rear spacers and am happy with both the handling and look for a daily driver. But individual results and opinions may vary.. Anyway - take some time and paruse the forum.. A lot of information and answers here. A great place. My sigfile shows a pic with mods. |

Thank you both for your input. I agree about the Nav - I would prefer to use my phone. Does the inboard nav do anything other than radio and nav? With the climate control to hte right of the sterring wheel I'm thinking that's all it does.
Scotty - like like the setup of your car it looks great. Do you like the spoiler? Does it obscure the view out of the rear? |

I agree with them- it's a choice you will need to make after using some of the info here. I, personally, went the Base route: no Nav, HID's, leather steering wheel, pedal covers, heated mirrors or foglights. I "saved" about $3-4k off the EX price w/out Nav and about $5-6k off with the Nav.
That said, I purchased aftermarket: HID's, Navi headunit, 18" wheels and the Mugen kit with foglights, lowered it .8" in the front and .9" in the rear with Tein High Tech springs. All of this totaled about the same as an EX w/Navi, but it was what I wanted vs what Honda wanted me to have... I'm extremely happy I went this route. I was able to personalize it using items I wanted, and knew, would be high quality. Mine is a daily driver that I've had for almost 3 months and I've put on 8500+ miles. I know it's a tough choice, but it is your choice I hope this helps! Good luck in your decision and enjoy the forum

Its all up to you, I mean, if you're in the city then I'd keep it stock... Having it lowered and stuff can be dangerous with all the bumps and curbs, etc.
I would go with 17's and a nav. The Canadian version doesn't have a nav, and I think we have 16's, not certain, but I absolutely love the car. Best purchase! |

Hi, I am also a prospective crz-ex buyer. But I wanted to comment on the Navi system . Personally I wouldnt pay $2000. for a built in unit for several reasons . My portable stick on unit cost only about $160 & has all the features if not more than a built in. Lane assist, speedometer, road sign speed limit, compass, economy mode, bluetooth for phone no cost map & traffic updates, plus all the normal features too many to list etc etc. I can also take my portable unit out & use it on other vehicles or even when Im walking or riding a bike. I will also have when I sell or trade the car in. Just my 2 cents worth on the matter. Hope it helps.

A portable GPS is definitely a positive. That small CR-Z dash compartment with the self-closing lid is ideal for this purpose.
My 17" OEM wheels on low profile Bridgestones definitely improve the tracking and handling. I would be interested in stiffer springs (the Eibach springs on my Fit were excellent) if they didn't lower the chassis. |
