really? the base doesn't have auto headlights? that sucks...
you can kind of install them yourself, what you would need is a Switch and a Darkness Sensor. the Switch is to go between the headlights being always on and being on "auto-detect" mode. wiring would be something like this: Link to Pic (can't post the pic directly cus im not registered...) next problem is finding where that wire is, and then finding a place to mount the sensor lol. |

Place for the sensor is on the passenger dash, just "blanked out" in base model iirc.
I have an EX but don't use the auto lights (old school...) Also I read that the bulbs have a limited "on/off" cycle lifetime; if true then I want to control their use. Auto lights come on in my garage, which I don't need.

I've never been a fan of auto lights. They're on when they don't need to be (like pulling into your garage)... they're not on when they need to be (like that road work zone that you're supposed to turn them on, but since they're in auto and you're not thinking about it, they're not on).
So while I have them in my EX, I've never used them yet, and probably never will.
