Default Heating in auto mode

Its getting cold now here in the pacific northwest and so I have a change to use my heater for the first time. This what I found out. When I have it set to auto mode temp at around 70-80 deggres it works good. But when I park the car and leave it for a few hours, when I come back the windshield is fogged up. This fogging does not happened when is at manual mode.
Anyone has an experience with this situation? Am I doing something wrong in an auto mode?

It might be because it's switching to recirculate when it's in Auto mode. I know I sometimes have to put it in manual mode just so I can get some fresh air from outside.

Just stop breathing that should fix the problem.

"stop breathing" (lol)

Also, don't leave wet sponges or open beverage containers in the car

Im glad Im not the only one having this problem. I guess the auto mode is a nuissance feature. Also if youre in an auto mode and want to direct the airflow just to your feet so you would press the the button until the arrow pointing towards your feet. when do it , it goes out of auto mode. it wont let you choose to direct the airflow just to a certain area in auto mode.

I love the auto mode. 80% of the time it does exactly what I want. You just have to be aware that it's trying to be efficient, and sometimes that's not what you need.

The thing with automatic climate control is that it's there so you can simply set a temperature and forget it. As soon as you want to take manual control of something, you aren't really utilizing the feature anymore.

Also, it picks the airflow based on what will most quickly change the ambient temperature of the cabin, so it will tend to direct air to the bottom vents when heating the car and to the top vents when cooling the car.

is this your first Honda? I've had Hondas for a good portion of my life and everyone I had (i.e., civic, fit, cr-z), fogs up terribly. It's a Honda thing!!! Crack your window slightly and it helps.

Except that it often fogs up in the early morning when there's dew on the car, or when it's raining out.
And you either need a wet suit, or the window visor things, to crack your window open on the CR-Z in those conditions!

I had a 2005 prius prior to this car and I remember never did used the heater in auto mode because the windshield fogged up right away.

Also whatever happened to the old school vent system to where it lets fresh natural air in without using a fan to draw air. I dont feel it in my crz!!!
