I had an 08 mugen si, 08 evo X, 11 tsx and now the cr-z. Its great if you love honda's but the evo spoiled me as no other car will be the same. I am currently selling mine so not sure if that answers your question but the grass isn't any greener over here.

I didn't go from and SI to a CRZ. But I've owned an 07 SI. Sold it for s2000, sold s2000 for a Fit, bought a 370z Nismo sold it for a CRZ, then sold the fit. Now all I own is a CRZ. Depends on your purposes and how much car payment you want or don't.

Thanks for the response. I am not trying to lower or raise the car payments really. I am trying to get better gas mileage, and keep the crx tradition going ( I have had 5 ) I am mainly worried about not enjoying the car, feeling that I did the wrong thing trading mine in. Like I said I wanted to be on the waiting list when they first came out, but I did not purchase and haven't in fear that I would be stuck with it and a k series, or si model would come out.

i had an 06 fg2 went to a 06 f250 diesel then sold the truck and now i own an 89 supra 1jz big single and have the crz as my daily. The CRZ is by no means comparable to an Si performance wise. But it is a a nicer car all around in my opinion. I beleive the looks are a step up, the cluster/ controls on the car are far superior, and the car seems to have a much more refined appearance overall. If gas mileage is what you are looking to get then the crz is it for you. =)
bizzybear also went from an fg2 to a crz |

thanks. all I am looking for is a solid all around daily driver that I can put suspension and wheels on and be done with. I had a hard time finding out about the hybrid battery warranty on the honda website does anyone know exactly what it is?

sold my 91 crx for a 94 civic ex, sold the 94 civic for a 96 civic(still own it) bought a 2000 civic si new, sold it for a 2005 acura tl-6speed, sold the tl for a 2001 prelude sh, sold the sh for the crz...IMO nothing will ever compare to the TL...out of all my cars it goes like this... TL>prelude>crz>civic

I have a buddy who drives a 07 Civic Si Coupe. We used to go canyon drive together(we don't race and we always drive one lane only). From what he told me, as long as it's a straight, he had no problem keeping up. If it wasn't one lane, he would easily pass me. In tight canyon turns, he actually said he couldn't keep up at all. He couldn't brake as less as I did. And CR-Z could accelerate faster right our of corner.
si2see, depends on what you like, acceleration or cornering ability. If acceleration and rear seats are more important to you, keep your Si. If you want an eco-machine with excellent cornering "fun", CR-Z is for you. Overall, I think it may be a better choice to keep your Si. My buddy often carpool and I drive his Si. It's still a fine daily drive. There's 197hp for you when you need it. Although my buddy told me CR-Z is better in corner, I believe Civic Si is still one of those great handling FWD.

the thing is I do not LOVE my si. I like it, it's clean, stock, low miles. but some things drive me crazy in it. The transmission has problems at times but not the popout tsb. The drive by wire on that car drove me crazy when I first got it, and after a year it still isn't any fun ( you can by flashpro to mostly fix this but I don't feel I should have to spend $750 to buy that when I don't plan on doing any other mods )
Plus my big concern is the paint issues the newer civics are having. My mom has a 2007 civic coupe. The paint on the hood and tops of the fenders looks like it has a million little cracks under the clear coat. My civic is only one model year newer, but with half the miles. I can see the same thing in my paint forming, although not nearly as bad. Things like this shouldn't happen with a honda, a car that back in the day was probably the most perfect car offered for the money |
