Acura Version of CRZ?

My wife got a new car - inspired by my hybrid, she went for the Lexus HS250h.

It's...really nice.

So nice that I am a bit frustrated with the CRZ at the moment, a car which I have positively loved since I got it this January.

Think there's any chance Acura will do a version of the CRZ? With leather, a less-crappy nav, etc?

Although, I still prefer the CR Z. I don't think you can even compare them.

Buy a CR-Z from Europe and get it fully specced GT trim

Have some bumper with those fogs. Actually the fogs themselves are kinda small. My eye is caught by the huge honkin' hole where the fogs are seated.

I'd like to see Acura with a small hybrid performance coupe, but it couldn't be based on the CR-Z. The Acura "treatment" would mean adding something like 200 lbs to the car. Pound for pound electronics are some of the heaviest stuff you can put into a vehicle. Plus it would require more sound dampening, more features, etc.

I figure the Civic's plank can handle the weight better than the Fit's.

It's 95% sure that the forthcoming Acura will not be CR-Z (ie Fit) based. As Varmint suggested, the new Civic chassis will likely be the new donor vehicle. As an Acura, it will surely get the latest electronic gizmos, leather, moonroof and HIDs. From what I've heard, there is a VERY solid chance we'll also see a 6-MT as an option. Remember, so far, only IMA has been compatible with a manual transmission. I'd look for the 23 hp ~70 lb-ft torque, Li-Ion system from the Civic as the hybrid portion of this. The car was slated to debut in April as a 2013, but I just heard that they've swapped the 2013 RDX with this car in the roll-out schedule. This means the RDX comes in April and this new car comes in the Summer. I've written a little about it on my site: satoauto.com
