Default Driving your CR-Z 'Different'

Anybody else drive their CR-Z different from your other cars?

I drive the CR-Z for mpg, even around town. Yesterday I get in the 2000 Integra with my wife for a short errand. Up to 85+ on the freeway with my wife commenting "I like you much better in the CR-Z" Sprinted starts. Back in the CR-Z that afternoon... slow.

Yes, but the exact opposite. I'm always in boost... The White Devil possesses me...

I tend to ride my brakes more in every car I own because I'm so used to charging my battery. I'm sure that's gonna end up costing me :/

I slow down in-gear in the CR-Z way more than I have with any other manual vehicle I own or have owned. Normally I let the brakes take more load but the CR-Z requires you to keep in gear to charge up the battery.

That also took me awhile to get. In my old hatch I'd just pop out of gear and idle down hill

nope I drive the same way on both cars, but the CR-Z has different pedal response in sport mode and i always get caught off-guard when i switch and end up revving like crazy

This for me as well, haha.

I definitely drove more "conservatively" (read: SLOW) in the CR-Z than I did with my Accord (I punished the accelerator on that one), for the sake of maximising MPG. Then I realised how sad it was that I drove a sedan more aggressively than a sports car.

So nowadays I'm trying to kick that habit and drive more like I used to again. It's certainly made the Z more fun to drive, and also had the unexpected side-effect of improving my MPG so it's a win-win.

Yup, but differently like Item9. If I were to drive my truck like the CR-Z, I'd be spending a lot more time exploring its off-road capabilities!

It's not like I abuse the Honda. It spends 99% of the time in Normal mode. But I come from an SUV and pickup background. Maybe that's why I'm so thrilled with the economy and performance of the CR-Z!
