Sorry guys - Gotta give a disclaimer on this thread.. The Forum in no way endorses any type of street racing or excessively exceeding speed limits etc etc.. You know the story..

Be safe out there.. Take it to the track where it is just you, your car and the road. No innocent bystanders...

Or, apparently, Texas.
Texas highway would be the first to allow 85 mph speed limit | The Lookout - Yahoo! News

It doesn't matter how good a driver you are, there are just too many things you cannot control, in a public road situation. Not sayin' I never have, or even never have been caught, but it still ain't a good idea.

Would love to take a drive on that piece of road.. Not being a thread killer here.. Post away..

Kinda sort related story. Bought my Son a SI Civic back in 05 or so. Got clocked doing over a 100 down H3 on Oahu. Got the reckless. Was getting ready to go into the Airforce. Cost me a couple thousand to get a lawyer, get it reduced to just speeding. He had to go to a couple of driving courses etc.. Extremely costly and painful.

Seriously, has anyone driven a major production vehicle from any of the large international well known automobile manufacturers, that was made in the last 20 years that wasn't capable of going over 100 mph?

Has he never seen 'worlds wildest police videos'? You can see some spectacular piles of junk doing well over 100, and it could be considered research for his chosen profession so he won't look so silly when he's quoted on the internet.
Even mini vans will go past 100 lol. I don't think the Smart car or the Leaf can go past 90-something though.

I take I35 all the time. Raising the speed limit is a great idea. But you cant really get a break in traffic long enough to comfortably go that fast. You know the crazy thing? When i got pulled over, i was on my way home from the track lol

I got pulled over doing 80 in back roads when the limit was for 40. The sheriff also started asking me questions about the car like..."how many cylinders is this car, 6?" "Whats the mpg on this lil guy?" "I dint know Honda make 2dr sports coupe cars" and he also let me go with a ticket of 49 going on a 40 because I had a clean record love going in back roads, clean, no traffic and lots of curves

I haven't been over 85 (on 95 with a 75 limit), but have gotten too many tickets for my tint: 35 all around. The legal is 50/35.... I have no moving violations on my record... Just harrassed because the crz looks fast :/ lol
