Default Anything solid on the 2013?

Is there any solid news about 2013 CR-Zs? The receptionist at a local Honda dealer seemed to believe that Honda wasn't bringing them back (at least to the US) due to lack of sales. While I took this with a whole salt shaker ( (a) local dealer and (b) receptionist ) it did get me wondering ...

I haven't heard anything regarding the 2013 CRZ, except that it would come with a rear-view camera as standard equipment. However, I'm not even entirely sure of that little tidbit, as I think I just read it on some random website.

It would suck if the 2013 CRZ wasn't exported to the United States. But with the current conversion rate of the Japanese yen relative to the U.S. dollar, I guess it wouldn't surprise me. I forget who posted the article on here, but Honda loses money on every CRZ it exports into the United States. That, coupled with its relatively low sales here doesn't bode well. But at least the CRZ is doing well in the rest of the world, I guess?

Dunno yet. But they got an American in a top tier position for Honda North America and everything seems to suggest that he will be reformulating their product line a bit, so one can hope that the CR-Z gets some more juice outta that hybrid setup.

Although it'd be a bummer to see the CR-Z discontinued, I personally think it'd make our cars even more rare than they already are. If they release a 2013 model with a supercharger or turbo, or even just a slightly increased hybrid motor, I'm afraid I'd be overly jealous and crave a newer model.

Worse thing is if they do come out with some more powerful version and you want to trade , there's no current market value . I just looked at the current Galves , and they don't have values out yet . I never like going into a dealership without a baseline value . I did that last year with a limited production car that had no Galves listing ( and still doesnt ) and it was a long process to try to get a price , took a few days of dealer making calls and doing research .

It could go either way. This guy Berkman is either going to keep the CR-Z and juice it up or kill it in North America and take the sports hybrid concept and apply it to their other offerings like the Civic Si, which to me seems more logical - keeping the idea of the sports hybrid concept on a better seller and killing off a non-profitable car in the lineup. The next Accord is going to switch over to the CVT as its base transmission, so I can see the next Civic Si getting a hybrid setup and moving further into sports hybrid territory. Will be interesting to see how they go with this.

I wish they'd hurry up and announce something. There's an '11 Black EX spd+navi nearby for just under 20K with 11K on the clock. I want to snag it up if the 2013 won't add anything major.

Funny, my CR-V salesman at the same dealership said they were doing "something special" with the 2013 Z and I'd probably want to check it out. Time will tell I guess...

After I looked at the 2011 nearby I went to talk to a new dealer to see what kinda APR I'd be seeing on a new one (was hoping that 0.9% special they were running thru monday would include CRZ but alas no), I asked if anything was known about the 2013 and he had nothing... too bad Honda isnt more consistent with its secrets.

My 2 cents....

OK, I think "maybe" Honda in Japan knows "something" about the 2013 (if it happens at all), b-u-t, I also believe Honda USA knows SQUAT! I seriously believe all the USA dealers are friggin' CLUELESS about whether or not the 2013 CR-Z will happen at all, let alone what changes may/will occur, if any. Most of us here on this forum will most likely KNOW what's gonna happen (or not happen) before any of these so-called "Dealers" to whom we seem to be giving too much credit.

Just from being alert AND paying attention, we CR-Z owners are a helluva lot more AWARE and INFORMED of our car's evolutionary happenings than those who SHOULD BE BUT AREN'T!!!!

Again,,,,my 2 cents.
