Default Hill Assist

I've searched the forums using the "search" function but didn't find anything helpful..

I know we have hill assist..but I don't think mine works? I have a 6mt and on steep inclines it rolls as soon as the break is let off.. How do i activate it?

Come to a complete stop at your incline assuming your your in neutral and your foot is on the break. Engage the clutch and get into first once you release your foot off the break your car should be still for about 3 seconds enough time to get the car rolling forward

I would check back with the dealer ship there might have been a problem with the ecu flash if you went in to do the recall I'm still waiting until my b1 light comes on to do a full oil change and recall so I'll let you know if I have the same problem

Just to be certain, you have to actually be in neutral, not just clutched in. Clutch in, neutral, clutch out then clutch in, move to 1st gear, while on an incline should engage the HSA.

I also vaguely recall that it was only in the EX. Honda's site doesn't confirm that, but it's already been updated for the 2012, so maybe that changed...

So you are saying to engage HSA..

Scenario:
1. Stop at a hill for a stop light (guy behind me).
2. Engage Clutch and brake
3. Put in neutral
4. The light turns green
5. Engage clutch
6. Put in 1st
7. release brake

and that will activate it?

I'll say that that's the sequence that should activate it. My experience has been that without the explicit 'shift-to-neutral-and-clutch-out,' HSA won't activate.

just be carefull also that if you use the hand-break it will override the Hill Assist... it will not engage if you use the hand-break

Uhm side notes, if I recall alot of people have had problems with HSA...as it doesnt activate all the time, its kinda tricky....When I was in NC I'd be on some really steep incline hills and it wont work, but than it will work on the not so steep hills.
