If this is setup like my other car, a resistor in the sensor will turn off the auto setting and make it 100% manual.

My understanding from the manual is that this setting effects the timing, meaning that Max means that when it is dark enough to indicate lights are needed the delay will be the longest. Example: Max may mean 5 seconds before lights are turned on and Min may mean 1 sec.

That's not what I experience. When I had it set on max, the lights would turn on almost immediately when the car entered even the slightest amount of shade. With it set on min, it would only turn on if I was in an underpass for a few seconds.

The setting is called "Auto Light Sensitivity". Sensitivity is how sensitive the system is with regards to turning the lights on when the conditions are met. MAX sensitivity would be to turn the lights on as soon as the conditions are met. MIN sensitivity would be to wait and ensure that conditions persist for a period of time before turning the lights on.

Not another one of the them and us features surely? Thanks again
We don't get the option in the UK.

Read up on this a little, owners manual doesn't say that you can turn off the running lights. I kinda wish there was a way to actually turn them off during the day. I set my stick to "off" and they stay on during broad daylight. Don't know why really but it bothers me. Guess I'm used to older cars where you had more control?

Yeah!
I don't trust the auto... might be too late on turning on to be clearly seen.

I've got mine set to auto and max and it works exactly when I need it to. I leave on auto all the time and its beer failed me. Do some of you all just not like your headlights? Also, I have my interior LED ambient lighting tapped into the high beams so when they kick on, my LEDs kick on (a very nice feature if you ask me).
