put a small piece of plastic over the sensor , that way they turn on automatically and will tun off once you turn the car off

unfortunately the sensor picks up light when shined from Above. so going under a bridge can still trigger them no matter the sensitivity. same reason they are still on in the morning and evenings cus the sun is at a near horizontal angle that the sensor doesn't pick it up properly. So you could be blinded by sunlight while driving and your headlights are on anyways.

This is yet another reason I'm glad I got the base model (no auto setting in mine).

What I would prefer myself is auto off. Leave your lights on, turn off the car and walk away and in 30 seconds the headlights go off. What is so hard about that!!!

I don't think all CRZ's have the HID lamps or do they? Do they only come on the EX models? Anyway the expensive HID bulbs life is determined on how many times they are activated or turned on. Leaving the headlamp switch on auto and having them activate or come on everytime you go thru a underpass will shorten their life.

There's an auto setting but we still have manual control. The stalk just has four positions (off, parking lights, auto, low beams) instead of three (off, parking lights, low beams).

hi, can anyone please tell me exactly how you can adjust the sensitivity of the auto on feature? Mine started coming on in broad daylight last week; dealer checked them out and reset them although said could not find anything wrong. They were ok for a couple of days but have started doing it again. I've looked thru the handbook and cannot find anything about adjusting the sensitivity nor can I see anything on the stalk or dash so hope the forum can come to the rescue!
(Got this feature on my Toyota and it works fine)

it's in the settings inside the Dash Menu. have to navigate to them using the arrow keys on the steering wheel.

Page 90-95 in this online manual:
http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...1/ZT1111OM.pdf

only problem is the settings are: Min, Low, Mid, High, Max (default being Mid). Don't know what MAX actually stands for, if it means it's harder for it to come on or easier for it to come on, but I think it means Max = easier to come on... not sure 100% though. try it out and let us know.

also the sensor is near the windshield in front of the passenger (unsure if it's the same on a RHD car though). if you put anything there that would block sunlight like papers or a sticker or anything like that, then your headlights will come on cus your sensor thinks it's dark.

The setting is for sensitivity of the sensor, so MAX would mean that it's the most sensitive, and would probably turn the lights on more often/for short periods of darkness.

Thank you very much for looking into this for me and replying so quickly.Just had a look at the hard copy uk manual and it lists all the customisible options you guys have online except the lighting adjustments (we have language setting instead) I'll go out and give it a try following your instructions and hope for the best. Not another one of the them and us features surely? Thanks again
