Pretty high.

But you find that the MPG meters are the focus in a car like this, not the speedo.

Car and Driver says this:

"Trading six set gears for a continuously variable transmission—with seven programmed ratios for manumatic shifting—improved 0-to-60-mph acceleration by 0.3 second, to 9.3 seconds. By the quarter-mile mark, the two cars are essentially tied, with the CVT falling 0.1 second behind the manual car and tripping the light in 17.3 seconds at 83 mph. As expected, our CVT test car’s skidpad (0.86 g), top-speed (121 mph),
and 70-to-0-mph braking (180 ft) numbers are all within spitting distance of the manual car’s. And at 2698 pounds, this car weighed just 54 more than the manual car."

Edmunds says 9.2 sec. 0-60 for the CVT.

I believe these 0-60 times are obtained with VSA turned off and in Sport mode.

Try googling "honda cr-z 0-60 times" for more info.

Hope this helps.

I agree with Derek. Though I've found the car's acceleration perfectly fine with daily driving (even when driving through Atlanta, GA and Jacksonville, FL - easily keeping up with left lane traffic - in Sport mode.) Never had any issues with passing/merging/maintaining highway speeds/etc.

I've had the car for a bit over a year and my combined average MPG is 42.73. The highest was 52.5 mpg and the lowest was 36.7 mpg. This has included trips up to the mountains in north Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina (including the infamous Tail of the Dragon - US Hwy 129.)

My daily commute to work (10 miles with just a few lights and light traffic) yields about 47 to 48 mpg. This is achieved in Normal mode with A/C on and using cruise control when possible.

Anyway, it's still fun to get up to the speed limit by switching off VSA and selecting Sport mode.

Another easy thing to do is simply use the paddle shifter to get more acceleration while in Normal mode. I downshift one (synthetic) gear ratio, the car accelerates a bit quicker and then switches back to fully automatic mode when I ease off the accelerator.

Those are my thoughts for the moment.

I look at my revs, not my mpg meter.

Depends on the driver imo. I'd say about at the 8-9 range

Could argue both sides of the coin, but my overall point is you aren't going to to in to a Corvette/Ferrari forum and read about who has better gas milage. Just like I'm sure in this forum, and correct me if I'm wrong as I haven't been on long, we aren't going to be debating 1/4 mile times, engine swaps and hard core mods. I'd gladly do so as I love that stuff, just don't see this as the vehicle for that type of crowd. Again, I could be way wrong and it a lot of ways hope that I am.

I just came out of a vehicle that did 0 - 60 in sub 4 seconds so I imagine my perspective is a bit skewed at this point.

So long as everyone is having fun and being safe......all that matters.

madCRZ, I came from a fast car as well.

I am pleasantly surprised to find I am "satisfied" driving this car even though it's so slow.

8.2 sec on a stop watch 0-60 time. Traction off, Sport mode, Holding car with hand brake to get off the line quick. It feels faster than that for some reason. It could be that the tach is being held at red line till I let off the gas so the engine/exhaust is screaming.

Basically your laughing at yourself the whole time. But it is fun.
