Default Thread pitch for the shifter?

Hey Guys,

Anyone know the thread pitch for the shifter knob? I found one I like the pitch is 10x1.5mm.

Thanks,

Murdock

Does the knob lock in place with one of those horribly obnoxious plastic rings or can you really just screw on a new knob?

Most American cars have a locking plastic retainer since it's so hard to train line workers how many twists they need to add to the shift knob to make sure it's lined up properly.

The supplier for the shifter doesn't want this responsibility either... and attempts to make it a "dealer installed" item have failed miserably.

Anyway, thx for the thread pitch info

I'm having some trouble removing the stock knob. The shift boot seems to be attached. Any hints?

take off the boot by pressing it down where it attaches to the knob, once its off pull the boot down and the part where the boot attaches to you can see a slot where you can use a 17mm wrench to twist the knob off.

Go to step 7
