Anyways, I just wanted to share this:
I hope it is. Honda is dealing with front MacPherson strut and rear torsion beam.

-----------------------------------------------------------

According to UK Honda web site.
0-62mph
CR-Z 9.9sec
5 door Civic 1.8L 8.9sec

That's a bit disappointing. With 1.5L engine + IMA and lighter weight, I thought it would keep up with a 1.8L Civic. Now, I wish it does better in real life.

It's 9.9 seconds b/c of the gear shift you have to make...autocar got 0-60 in 9 seconds. I think the car will be plenty fun when it comes out.

I'm not saying it will have s2000 handling characteristcs, but think of it as a lower Fit with tighter suspension, and of coarse a bit more weight, but the ima's torque should offset that. I've heard people saying the Fit's handling (with suspension mods) definately beats the crz's handling characteristics...but this come from people who haven't even driven the car yet Even if it handled better, a crz with the same mods would kill it.

Driving in South Florida where 50% of drivers appear to exceed the the speed limit by more than 10 mph, the CR-Z's mediocre acceleration (say high 8's 0-60 time) is more than adequate to out-accelerate the driving intent of 90% of the drivers (especially corvettes who are just cruising), and the 6MT will beat a Prius with 'serious' comparison intentions. My CR-Z with IMA assist closely resembles the 2003 Honda Accord V6 response and feel, especially the immediate torque on demand at any speed and in any gear in NORMAL mode and absolutely in SPORT mode. In this way the CR-Z's sport hybrid intent is on the mark: A V6 engine feel (forget performance numbers) with as high as 40 mpg calculated for mixed city / highway (tank-to-tank method).

0-60 is a really garbage indicator of car performance for a daily driven car. The CRZ was given a 8.3 by motor trend. The best I can get using my phone as a timer is 8.5.

That being said the CRZ tops out in 2nd at 55-57ish mph. You have to shift to 3rd to get to 60 and that completely ruins the time. If the car was chipped to red out at 6750 you would probably be looking at 7.9/8 flat.

Edit: The reason 0-60 is pointless is you rarely get to just 0-60 the car. Merging onto a local highway is usually more of a 20-50 accel and a freeway is usually 20/30 to 60/75 depending on how you drive. Get in the car and test it. If its one thing I've learned through 5 cars and 10 nearly 15 years of driving. It doesn't really matter what the mags say. My sentra SER got crap reviews and I loved it.

This month's Road & Track 's Test Summary has the CR-Z 0-60 at 8.6 seconds.

i agree, the car performs well for its hp output stock, sad to hear all these mags talk down about it when in reality it really does what Honda intended it to do IMO. One of the funest cars I have owned yet, and i got a turbo miata to compare it to

I knew the crz was faster than 10 seconds all along, we need to ban those unjust crz reviews on YouTube

It is also really dependent on where you live. Around here you are frequently turning onto roads with 55-65 mph speed limits from cross streets with no on ramps and emergencies lanes often co-opted by bicycles. It makes a good 0-60 more important than it might be elsewhere.
