Default Front Bumper parts

Honda Automotive Parts

I took a look under my front bumper to see what scratches there were from the previous owner of my Z, and I noticed two pieces of the bumper that were really scratched up, make out of softer plastic. I'd take a picture, but my car is black so it would be hard to make out.

If you click the link and look at the picture of the front bumper parts and pieces, I am 95% sure that what I was looking at on my car is the piece 7,8, in the lower middle by where it says "B-50". If you look under the front of your Z, you will see one on the left and right side. They are a matte plastic, not glossy.

I want to purchase replacements for these parts, as the one on the drivers side looks like it is going to be ripped off the next time I go over a speed bump or pot hole. It looks like they are clipped in and have some bolts (pieces 31 and B-50?)?

If anyone could help by navigating this picture and parts list, it would be greatly appreciated...

That's a wind deflector I believe. It's a rubbery sort of plastic?

I'm assuming you want to do both? So you'd need:

71111-SZT-G10
71116-SZT-G10

And then I'd just reuse the hardware that's on there. Unless it's missing. But to be honest I wouldn't even bother replacing it if it's just scratched.

Yea its a rubbery plastic, and one of them is no longer flush with the rest of the bumper. I try to push it back in but it doesn't want to go. And they both have black electrical tape on them, because they're gouged in areas with chunks about to fall off.

I wonder if the loose one is missing a bolt thingie? I'd have to actually to get down on the ground and compare both, but it's all wet and rainy out...

If I wanted to get the bolts or whatever they are, I would buy two 31's, and then what is that one with the arrow and "B-50"?

Wind deflector, maybe, or not.
More like the "parking stop silencer".
Each one has a little flat tab that get slid into a slot of the bumper, sounds like the reason you cannot get it back up tight is the tab is pulled out of the slot.

If i was you, I would get some new electrical tape on there, and epoxy it back up. not worth the price new. The electrical tape is part of the factory design Again, what were they thinking on these besides to give you a quieter parking job when you pull up to a parking stop. They sure are not made worth a crap they are designed to fall off i think after a few park jobs til the owner learns not to pull into a spot so far. Kind of a curb feeler training wheels.

Tomorrow it is going to be raining again, but Wednesday promises sun. I will get up close and personal with my car that day and look for a tab of sorts with that loose one.

Yea I don't get the point of these cheap plastic things. If they weren't there, there wouldn't be much of a difference..

There would be a difference just not noticeable at normal speeds.. They aren't held on with the black tape from the factory just the snaps and screws. It just lines the bottoms.

Back to the screw question, is it only screw 31 that holds each on in addition to snaps/clips? There is another one pictured but it only says "B-50". @_@

31 is a snap. There are 3 of them (91506-S9A-003). The one screw is labeled b-50 because it's on a different page. You'll probably have to call a dealer to get the exact part number.

The 'electrical tape' that is seen on there is protective tape used during shipping. It is supposed to be removed upon pre-inspection at the dealerships. It's also on the Fits, and there is a discussion on Fitfreak.net about that. It is however, intended to be removed.

Also, the part being discussed has purely aerodynamic function, it is nothing parking related.

The part description is:
71111-SZT-G10 007 001 SPOILER, R. FR. AIR 14.38 10.07
Helm listing is under "Front Air Spoiler Replacement" sec. 20-126.

Keep in mind that, if you choose to put the Honda front chin spoiler on ( or presumably many after market ones), you will delete these parts. Just in case you have plans that way.
