Yup, I noticed that a few days after getting my CR-Z, that there was something hanging from under the bumper. Sure enough, there was the tape all ripped up so I just pulled it off. I just assumed (correctly, apparently) that it was some temporary covering that can be removed with no ill-effects.

I guess the dealers often forget or simply don't know that the tape is there and never remove it after receiving the vehicle.

No, the black tape is not a shipping or pre delivery device. it is there to stay, and give the rubber air dam some life. totally wrong in how this is going,].
Ask your dealer okay...

"The protective tape is covered in the service bulletin on "pre-delivery inspection" (08-065). Step 23 reads "Sport models: remove the protective tape from the front spoiler".

There you have it. The protective tape is to prevent damage to the front spoiler during shipping, and is supposed to be removed before delivery. Sometimes the dealer forgets this step."

You also went on for several sentences speculating and hypothesizing with no definite proof or sources about how those parts are in your opinion designed exclusively for parking, when both the Helm description and parts catalog description indicate that it is an aerodynamic part, Air, Spoiler. 0/2

Here's the Fit PDI with the step listed, and image of the front lower spoiler under the bumper with the tape that is supposed to be removed. Straight from Honda.
