Default Service indicator?

Hello folks,

I've had a trouble free experience with my CR-Z, however now I've got a spanner icon appearing in the multidisplay. According to the owners manual, this symbol should be accopanied with either an 'a' or a 'b' and a numbersequence. However, mine just shows the spanner symbol with no other explanation. What gives?

I snapped some pics of my display. In the second pic there's a 'b', but not like specified in the manual, and with no explanation. The car is a month or so shy of 1 year old, and has run about 5500 kilometers.
Is this just the yearly service interval warning?
And btw, what does the '29 sun/star' icon in the second pic indicate? Days and nights..? I couldn't find it in the manual.

I swear, this car is too intricate for me, I'm used to Alfa electronics that usually can be fully disregarded since they never work anyway.

Thanks for reading!

The last picture looks like it's telling you that you have people sitting in the tray area at the back.

The 29 and the day/night symbol means exactly as you thought, you are 29 days away from your next service. The spanner and car symbol means that you are within a month of your next service. Finally when you are due for the service that car/spanner symbol will just change to a large spanner.

what he said (up arrow)

the first pic is when you turn on and is the "info message" warning - the second pic tells you how many days before the service is due.

In reality it will be a lot less - my indicator came up with 700 miles to go to service yet 250 miles later it was telling me i was overdue. It all depends on the driving conditions and your style.

nothing to worry about

I completely forgot to reply to all you guys answers..
Thanks for taking your time to help out!
The B service went fine, although I was surprised when they told me nothing had been changed, not even filters or oil.
It was apparently a check type of service, which a did include a software update (I think the car now doesn't use the stop function that often, yay) and a brake cleaning (so now they squeak, thanks alot).

I'm not sure I like the fact the car has now run for a year (8000kms/5000miles) on the same oil though, I'd ideally like to change it myself. But then again I think, hey it's under warranty for years to come and Honda probably know what they're doing. Job's a good'un.

Usually lasts about 10,000 miles unless the car is driven hard and then it can drop to around 7,500 or so. It can kinda tell you when you need new oil, but I check mine once a week just to be on the safe side.
