Packing it up and throwing it in... Unless you can come up with a very compelling offer, I am no longer interested in making these. Thanks for the support everyone! ***************** So, like many of you, the glass on my fog lights broke from "road damage" (bunch of liars at Honda...) so I decided to make some replacements. I've always liked the look of the Audi/Lexus/Mercedes DRLs and thought they'd go well on the car. I started by buying a set of plastics from the base model with fogs and then added some 10mm LEDs. I managed to find a harness with the male H11 socket on it so it would plug straight into the fog light connector. I like it when I don't have to tap into OEM harnesses! Glued everything together and sealed it with liquid electric tape. I used the instructions from wkqkqkfk to make the fog light circuit act as DRLs (found here) and BAM! good as gold. There's a couple problems with a DIY on this one... I wanted to do it at first but after the work I put into it things turned out to be a tad bit more difficult that I had hoped. The holes for the LEDs are drilled in at a crazy angle (so they point straight on the car); there's a lot of hand sanding and hand gluing; the part that holds all the electronics was made on a laser engraver/cutter; and as a result of these things I didn't take many pictures.
![]() That being said, the people who helped me during the fabrication said that there are ways to do the drilling (IMO the hardest part) that would have much better results (and get done quicker) but it only made sense to put the work into if I were to do a bunch of them. If I had a group of people (maybe 3 or 4?) that were interested in a set I might be able to come up with a reasonable price for them. Fist person in the group would end up being a guinea pig for some production ideas I didn't get to try on mine and would be receiving a sizable discount (read: practically at cost). These lights represent about 20 hours of work over several weeks. I'm glad you guys like them! |

I was thinking about doing the same, should my fogs break.
Thanks for paving the way. Definitely looks good on this car. Well done.
