Default Just Installed $40 DDMtuning.com HIDs

And they look really good. Just thought I'd post a couple of pics for those that have been considering it. $40 is pretty cheap; I've seen a lot of guys bring in some seriously cheapo HID kits for their motorcycles here, and the quality is night and day with these things:

These are the 8k's; I like how the blue goes with the Storm Silver.

They're "Awaiting Moderator Approval." I don't recall that being an issue before. Here are the direct links:

Something to do with you being a new user. I can see your other photos in the Dump album but not any with HID's. As likwid said, you're gonna be better off with photobucket or flickr at this point unless you want to wait for the approval.

Yeah apparently thats what some people say. And then you have a bunch of others that say they are crap, warranty replacement takes forever, etc...

Do you have pics of the output and do they use a realistic color scale? (I.E. 4300 should be halogen color, 5000k pure white, 6000k white with a hint of blue)

That should do it. I'd say the color in the picture matches what the look like in real life, and also the color scale on the website. These are 8000's, and I'm really happy with the color. I've ran them for about 40 hours now, and they haven't melted the headlight assembly or anything, so looks like they'll be alright.

The kits were similar to the Chinese ones I used to install in motorcycles, and even came in a Chinese box, but the ballast quality was much better (though I'm basing this just on feel). Also, the installation instructions are great, rivaling that of K&N, etc. Not that the assembly isn't pretty obvious in the first place. Normally I make DIY walkthroughs when i do this sort of stuff, but I didn't think it was even worth it here.

I don't know about warranty RMAs and whatnot, but for $40 for the entirety of the kit, and the fact that you can buy individual components, I'd just buy another one of the broken parts instead of paying to ship a busted one back and wait for the replacement with a car that's not legal in the interim.
