Erm no damage the rev limiter would have stopped it causing any damage unlessmthe CRZ is different in some respect. If however you changed down into too low a gear at high speed causing it to redline this is known as buzzing the engine and can cause damage but your descrbing the former. Its very easy to hit the limiter in the Crz in first and second youll do it again stop worrying as long as the cars warmed up first.

Yeah, happens to me fairly often.. If I'm having fun getting up to speed on the highway or something and not paying attention to my revs, all of a sudden it's bouncing off the limiter. Sad when you run out of steam like that, and aren't expecting it.

If Honda argued that you ran on the limiter for extended periods of time and refused warranty work, I'd be firing up a lawsuit. They set the rules on that one. |

Thanks to everyone for clarifying. If I damaged her, I'd be so freakin' pissed at myself.
But now, I have renewed confidence since I realize Honda has factored in redlining. And that means I can let 'er rip! Check out my video if you haven't already. Listen to her roar. I usually don't listen to rap but I like some of the older stuff Honda CR-Z w/ K&N Typhoon intake and Black Label Fabrication exhaust - YouTube

The rev limiter is simply there as a safety issue. Hondas can handle a rev far higher than what the limiter is set to. My rsx limiter was at somewhere around 8k and Hondata pushed it far beyond that to almost 9k. These engines are bulletproof. Same with the s2000. Hondas love to rev
Now, if you miss a gear and misshift, say, from redlining 3rd and forcing it back to 2nd, then that's when you're screwed. something that happened way too often in the rsx community. No limiter can save you there.
