Default IMA constantly resets itself

An issue has cropped up where the battery meter on the car will show a higher level state of charge then suddenly stop providing any assist. Battery meter will then rush down to one or two bars and start the forced regen process.

Problem is this happens daily, sometimes more than once if I make multiple short trips.

I put a call in to the dealer and they said not to bring the car in because they don't know how to reproduce or test for an issue like I described...... I was only told a foreman with hybrid experience would be contacted and I would get a call back

I'll post updates

I have the exact same issue, and my dealer did squat. There is another thread where several others commented that they also have this issue. I think we need to point Honda Corporate to these threads.

Dig through here, and you'll see: IMA/Battery behavior/issues

Thanks.

No help from the dealer as of yet. The master foreman wants to handle my car but he is on vacation until the 24th so I guess it's a wait now.

I am seeing this about every 2 days. Early in the morning, I when drive my daughter to school. On the way home I climb a big hill, assist stops at 3 bars. 2 minutes later it goes from 3 bars to 0 bars and then later charges normally. I seems the "battery gauge" is recalibrating. Could have something to do with the cold in the morning.

All other times it operates normally (like it always has). No flash update yet.

My car has stalled out several times at the light when the battery drains and I have to start it back up again.

i have also experienced this and the car stalled once when all the accessories were running. It seems to me when the climate control is on auto it helps a lot, it resets every 2 weeks for me, maybe due to the weather.

Can we direct honda to this thread, as well as the two other threads that hit on this issue?

I wouldn't say it has impacted MPG's for me yet since it only really happens on short stop and go trips.
