Default dead 12V battery too?

First of all, I dont mod my car and I drive like a nanny. (my battery level rarely go below half/4bars) However, the weirdest **** happened to me today, while on stop and go traffic on LA freeway. I was at normal mode (I use this mode 99% of time) and slowly breaking to a stop in the traffic so the engine went idle.

I am at a stop and waiting for the traffic to start going again and all of the sudden I hear the light warning tone beeping, so I look at the dash and the screen gave me a warning message, "RESTART THE ENGINE NOW!!!" Obviously I was like wtf, but traffic starts are moving and others are blazing on the other lane. So I quickly, shut off the engine and put back again, then quickly accelerate to pick up the pace. After picking up to speed, I try to feel whats wrong with the car, i noticed my battery went from regular 5-6 bars to nothing.

Many people on the forum have the dead 12v battery but i think my case is different since I was still able to start the car. I am taking the car to dealer this weekend since it scare the **** out of me, but comments are welcomed.
