all my customers seem to like the K&N, I've probably sold a hand full of cold air and about 10+ of just the K&N, people seem to like the versatility of the short ram

Depends on your comfort level. If you have to drive where there the streets frequently flood, you may want to consider and SRI such the K&N which with its heat shield has some cold air properties when at speed. Here in the PNW, a CAI exceeds my personal comfort level.
But, counterpoint, a lot of members here with CAI's in areas where streets flood (Flordia etc) and they have stated no issues. |

I run a Cold Air Intake in Florida where it rains a lot. If you're worried about sucking water up into your engine, get a bypass valve and you'll be fine. |

I have the K&N typhoon coming soon, looking forward to the increase in hp/torque and sound! I chose the K&N due to past experience and build quality, they know what they're doing due to DECADES of experience, that counts with me!

It doesn't matter where you live since there's always going to be "that one time." If you're running a CAI, get an AEM bypass valve. It's designed so that you don't lose the advantages of running a CAI compared to the SRI. It stays sealed and the only time it opens up is when the intake turns into a vacuum.
