Default Our OEM 12V battery not strong enough?

Hmm after installing couple of aftermarket mods, there has been some problems of them not working properly and only thing I can think of is lack of power from our 12v battery. 2 problems that I currently have:

1. Using my new alarm and startbutton system, some how my engine will not start without the headlight in ON position. it dies just before ignition. this is very strange that I dont think no one can explain.

2. My aftermarket horn does not work unless I am going over 60km/h lol.

anyone have any idea of comparison of OEM 12v battery and aftermarket ones?

thanks

Both of those issues sound like improper wiring, but idk.

I say this as an electrician in the Navy. Also, the 12v shouldn't be disabling the horn from working before a set speed. It should be the opposite.

I may be wrong though, I'm new to these cars

Just random generalized thoughts...

These cars are pretty sophisticated electronically. I confess to not understanding the full logic of the factory alarm and suggest that perhaps the aftermarket alarm company did not either. It is possible that your new alarm system is installed per the instructions, but the factory alarm still has certain qualifiers in some of the black boxes that are not bypassed. There have been many cases on the Honda Insight forums where electrical glitches were traced to the dealer installing a security system that the new owner was not aware of.

It's pretty hard for a good mechanic to screw up a horn circuit. I'm having a tough time coming up with a circuit that kicks in at 60k. The best I can come up with is a poor ground somewhere that is improved when the car gets enough vibration....perhaps 60km/h.

I take it you understand how the 12v battery performs as power supply and how it is backed up by the IMA battery?

My only after market battery advice is understanding that your 12v battery should be replaced with a deep cycle battery as opposed to a Cold Cranking Amps one. ANY money on spent on Cold Cranking Amps rating is a waste and completely unrelated to the alleged connection between your battery and your symptoms.

If the battery wasn't strong to start the car, adding more of a load to it by turning the headlights doesn't make sense.

im running an after market amp driving a jl audio 8w7 sub, and aftermarket alarm system with remote start and absolutely no glitches whatsoever, pretty sure you have somthing improperly connected somewhere. factory alarm is still active even with the aftermarket one.

Personally I think that you have the first CRZ to be abducted by aliens.

The horn issue sounds totally cool to me; since the real dangers in driving occur over 60 KPH anyway.

Other than that smart-ass remark, I'm no help. Both issues sound wierd. I don't think it's a "weak" battery, but I do think it's how the mods are wired into and/or interacting with all the other OEM systems / sub-systems.
