Trust your Honda computer. It should light up with 'service due soon' at 6% to 15% and then 'service due now at 1% to 5%. If you are nervous about the oil life, change it when the light first shows up.

I'm at 70% with 4,000 highway miles on the car. That projects to 13,000 miles at 0%. But I'll change for the first time when there is %15 left; bought the Mobile 1 Synthetic 0W-20 yesterday.

Although, I didn't totally trust the oil blend put in at the factory - (my issues), afterwards putting a full synthetic 0W20, I'm onboard with trusting the minder. All a part of making the CR-Z a little greener. Several users here who it seems have gotten 10K with the oil still looking good.

I'd go with the minder.. But just me..

Standard operating procedure to call you after maybe 3months. Would not worry - just the service department drumming up business. Go with the minder...

I went ahead and did the first one at 3K. The factory oil was in there for quite a while as the car was built in March. I tossed in some Mobil 1 and plan on using the oil life indicator taking it down to about 20%

Isnt there supposed to be some "break-in" oil installed at the factory??? Shouldn't it be left in?
Maybe I'm wrong
