Default Tuning Timing

A couple weeks ago I recieved the parts that I wanted to order (CAI, Exaust, Downpipe, and Spoon TB). I also promised a dyno for each part. Well there wont be a dyno for each individual part but there will be a dyno after everything is done. I managed to pick up 19whp and 12tq (i did use a 2" exaust). My biggest gain didnt come from the parts however but some tuning software that i'm helping out with. I've used this company before and now that I have my degree in computer programming I really wanted to play around with the software.

First of all let me say this: JCRZ posted a great tuning option for all of you at a price that really is unbeatable Found an alternative tuning solution for us!!

What i'm working with allows you to modify every aspect of the car (standalone). Which is no where near complete right now and I will not be selling the product but another company will offer it. So here's what everyone would like to know i'm sure. I didn't want to get too crazy with the timing.. Out of each degree that I added I ended up gaining 5whp and 2.61tq. Overall i added 6 degrees coming to a total of 160whp and 148wtq. The testing was done on a dyno jet and a/f was recorded at 13.4 which is a little high and I'm pretty sure I have to mess with the throttlebody b/c the throttle response was really laggy.

Attached is a 3d map of another vehicle That is all.

So the 160HP is what you got tune AND mods, or just off the tune?
This is such great news, when this gets developed a little more I would love to jump in on it.
Imagine what we could do if we could tie different timings to the 3 modes

Well it really is not a tune. You are drastically changing the way the car is ran all together. This software allows you to change practically everything. It wasnt just adding fuel or removing fuel at certain RPM but changing the way the detonation occurs inside the cylinders. Only by advancing the timing was it possible to come up with the numbers and the only way I was able to hit 160 was leaning the fuel to a 13.4.

Leaner is meaner my friend. I'm guessing you had to step up to 93/94 octane to get to 6 degrees of advance?

Since you seem reluctant to release info on the tuning software could you confirm at the least that it is interfacing with the factory ECM and resetting the parameters in the ROM?

@andrew the timing should be independent of the three modes they impact throttle sensitivity but not how much fuel. It's not as though your car makes less power in eco mode, it just makes you have to plant your foot down further to get to that same HP.

Wow, a 1.5 NA engine producing 160whp is pretty impressive.

Question 160 HP Mod

Hey guys I was browsing the forum and came across many different post of tuning and gaining HP can you guys explain to me in the simplest way possible what I would do in order for my car to be tuned. I read about wire harnesses connected to aem 1/m or bizmoto kit and everything else you can imagine. I looking to understand the basics and what I can do to add hp without all the confusion. Your help is greatly appreciated.
