I personally experienced oil pressure problems in hard maneuvering with high filtration oil filters in my Del Sol. Also, the problems with oil life is heat, shear, pressure and water condensation, not just filtering out contaminants. The MicroGreen label suggests only changing only the filter at 10,000 miles, and the oil every 30,000 miles. I planned on my first oil change at 7,500 miles and all oil and filter changes subsequent.

Stay away from that filter. There's no point in paying extra $$ for it. If you want to do your oil changes yourself stick with Purolator Pure 1, their cheap and have been proven to be good filters. If you want to get fancy and spend more get a Mobil 1,K&N, or Royal Purple filter.

Well... Check this out:
http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/mobil1.html I am not sure viscosity breakdown is going to happen that fast. It looks like extended oil use is a good thing. And the cleaner the better - so, I think the filter may be a good thing. |
