Default AEM Bypass Valve = No Go

So I been wanting to post this here for a while, an email conversation between AEM rep and I regarding production to a AEM Bypass Valve for their Cold Air Intakes. Pretty much the email is short and even though I put it in here in, I still will sum it up real quick. They will not be producing a bypass valve for our car and the ones they do have wont fit the existing CAI due to fitment issues. The reason as you can see is that, since our car is new, and they claim newer cars tend to have error messages when they are installed, so its to prevent that.

Hey I have a 2011 honda crz and one of your cold air intakes installed, I was looking to get the bypass valve for it too, but the size it apears I need is a 2 1/4 inch to a 2 1/2 inch adapter and the ones you have on your website I all the same ize for both sides of bypass valve, do you guys have any that aren't listed on your website or in process of making one? Or if not how can I go about to install one of your bypass valves for my intake?

Mike,

The BPV will no longer be available for the newer Honda vehicles due to space restriction and sensitive sensors that could trigger a check engine light.

Thank you for choosing AEM and apologize for the confusion.

If you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail.

Thank you,

Also like to mention since I got that email already opened, if any of you guys have any questions I can send in one mass email about it, since I got the topic open with them anyways I dont mind shooting your questions over to them.

I still am going to keep my CAI on, and just avoid the summer storms that come through here in NC till I am back in CA all safe and snuggled and got nothing to worry about lol.

be VERY careful. i had an AEM CAI on my accord and i hydrolocked it. had to get a new motor. i'm not sure what the fitment issue is, but if you can get any bypass with the right diameter, you can just saw your pipe in half and install it.
