Default IMA motor assist shut down?

Wanna see if anyone experience this before?

I was cruising at 120km/h (75mph) at ECON, with 5 bars on the IMA battery indicator, and 3-4 blue bars shown on the battery assist; about 15 seconds after I disengage the cruise control (still at the same speed), I felt a very minor shake and realized the battery assist blue bars were all gone and changed to 1 green bar on the recharge mode, while the IMA battery indicator still remain at 5 bars.

I then realized the shake was caused by the IMA motor shut down, but this never happened before as the battery assist blue bars usually gradually decrease and change to the recharge green bars, that the IMA assist cannot noticable.

Just curious if anyone know why/what cause this?

sounds like a re-cal of the batery charge state. It thinks it is at 50%, then works out that it isn't really that charged. Most of the time, it is dead-recconing, but it also uses the measured voltage.

Update:

I went out at lunchtime for a short drive to grab some grocery, everything looks normal as the IMA indicator dropped down to 3 from 5, coast for couple minutes and it recharge back up to 6 bars; the motor assist (blue) & recharge (green) works fine as well, both gradually increase/decrease, will have a much longer drive over the weekends, and will see if the same condition happen again.

I think what your feeling is when the IMA changes to charge mode and the motor becomes a generator, I have the 6mt, and when I lift off slightly on the accelerator, I usually have no indication on the motor assist indicator and then you feel a slight but noticeable change in the power delivery, and a green segment appears on the indicator.
If it's the same as I'm trying to describe, I don't think you have an issue its normal.

I'm driving 6MT as well, and when that happened this morning, speed was steady at 120km/h, and i just felt the minor shake from the IMA motor shut down all of sudden and changed to the charge mode from 3-4 bars assist.

I've experience that same problem with mine. To utilize the IMA again, I simply back off my foot from the gas pedal and apply more pressure.
