Default Increase IMA performance

Anyone see this? I bet this is what was used on the hpd push to pass cr-z. I'd love to something like this on th cr-z. I also think this is why I see a performance increase with my enginer phev kit. I'd like to start a bounty thread on getting this going. I'd be in for $100.

Does it increase MPG's as well?

That is some interesting info!@ I wonder if it would work for us?

It might, until the battery dies lol. The way I figure it, the more power coming out of it the faster the battery is going to die.

Yes the battery would drain faster of course. The object here is to gain performance. I have a plug-in kit installed in my crz. Through the readout I can tell that as the factory battery voltage sags under load say for 5 seconds the mdm allows the ima motor to draw more current.. If the mdm was fooled into thinking the voltage was sagging then the current would be greater overall. Say it was fooled 20% then the ima would give 20% more current or 12kw instead of 10. The guys on the Gen 1 insight are getting 19 kW out of there's. I think 15kw would be fine. Th would be 6.5 h.p. but around 25 ft lbs of torque. Very worth while to me.

All of this is foreign to me, so ill wait around till some tells me to get "this" motor and/or "this" battery or "this something else and ill be there. so for now

this would be a simple thing like a resistor or a shunt. There would also be the possibility of adding voltage to the stock pack by means of adding extra cells. If /when someone with electrical know-how gets a crz we are in buisness. I'm still looking into putting to wheel motors on the rear wheels/or adding a motor up front on the crank via a cog drive belt to add 50 h.p. and 100 lbft of torque maybe more.

This is what I'm wondering. We've discussed this in another thread but my question is whether the 13 hp is limited by the IMA motor itself, or by the battery voltage supplied? Similarly, if I take the 9V battery pack out of my cordless drill and replace it with a 13v one, will the drill simply spin faster? Probably oversimplifying things, but it'll be interesting to see how it develops.

On the hpd crz they changed just the controller. So the stock ima motor can make 25 h.p. As far as voltage goes you could get same power from more amps but there is a discharge current limit on all batteries. Ours happens to be 20c. Basically our pack is 5.7 ah 100.8 nominal times 20 gives you 11491.2 Watts it roughly 11.5 kW. Adding extra sticks and then fooling the mdm into thinking its still working with even less than a full battery equals more current plus more voltage. read opening post link for more details.

I believe is was it you or another poster who found the electric motor is physically smaller than the 20 hp unit from the 2nd generation Civic Hybrid?

The Thunderhill CR-Z duo had an upgraded motor to the tune of 25 hp so I assume something can be done to boost output.
