Default How loud or audible is your engine belt noise?

So I only have 4000 miles on my CR-Z and maybe I'm just being paranoid but I swear my belt noise is louder than when I first picked up the car. Am I going crazy or can others verify if they hear the belt noise when driving.

I'm at like 5k miles but the only strange thing I hear is the high pitch whine while in sport mode. Not sure if that's what kind of sound you are talking about.

Agreed. Which belt?

The accessory belt or the CVT belt?

Sounds like a timing belt.

To my understanding the CR-Z engine has a timing chain instead of a timing belt.

I drive the 6MT so it can't be the CVT belt. All I know, without really seeing the manual in front of me, is that the service schedule requires checking and replacing belts so whatever these belts are is getting louder than I remember. It definitely changes in speed and loudness based on how I depress the gas pedal.
