Question Okada Projects Plasma directs

Looks like Okada Projects has announcement on Japanese site (but not US site) about their plasma direct line for CR-Z.

Anyone use these?

Okada Projects Plasma Direct CR-Z

Yep. Why you'd need new coils is beyond me. Unless you are modding it to all hell. Maybe a turbocharger would require them. But they're usually one of the last things to get upgraded, unless the stocker's just suck.

Okada somehow convinces people they make power.. they make these and also some spark plugs that supposedly increase power. Sounds like a waste of money to me. The Fit was the first car i saw to pick up something like 4whp from plugs alone...

We've had personal experience with these coils and my suggestion is that they're expensive but are very useful. We installed in on our Shop Yaris, added maybe 1-2 whp and trq but the real effects came when we started modding the car more and more. It helped by making the torque band very steady and prevented excess fluctuations in power and torque. It made our engine power very reliable, and it stopped any engine knocking we had before.

Basically you won't see much improvement in power, but in terms of reliability and efficiency it helps alot. Also the more you mod the engine the better it is, so if you have nothing else than don't bother, but if you're looking for the next improvement then I suggest it.

Best,
Saku

WTH are you doing to get detonation? I mean, I know it's not hard to do, it is bad. Just curious what you're doing to the Yaris. Turbo?

Yea, we're custom fitting a greddy turbo on it.. it's been delayed due to some issues with wiring and just that we're all too busy here but once its done we'll be sure to post pictures up.
