Default same engine as honda fit?

ive seen fit cam swaps and i know all that is possible but the cost is close to 3000 bucks. does the fit engine fit with our 6 speed transmission? because wouldnt it be more cost effective to just do a fit engine swap? i know we will lose the battery, and hybrid ability but we will lose 160 pounds of weight as well. just thought about it. so does the fit engine work with our 6 speed tranny?

why not just swap tranny too? you wont need the IMA anymore, just do a full fit swap.

lol no not really interested in doing a fit swap, but just wondering since the fit camshaft and rocker assembly and intake manifold is pricey already. plus fits have a 5 speed manual, i like the 6 speed

i guess what im asking is "is the torque we get from the battery worth the extra 160 pounds. fit is a bigger car than the crz and its almost 200 pounds less, or maybe more.

The fit is slower than the CRZ. I know. I came from one. It's not worth the swap. You can get OEM cam's and rocker assembly for the GE fit for roughly $600 straight from honda. You still need a flash pro but you've still done what you're talking about for much less than $3k.

If you're going through the trouble of swapping the engine and removing the battery system, don't waste the time and effort on another variant of the L motor that we already have..

If you want a debate on IMA weight vs performance, you can read some old threads and bring one up. There were plenty of them.

Regard to paring up Fit engine with CR-Z 6MT, what you will get is just a simply slow car, slower than a Fit. Have you ever thought about looking at gear ratios?
The CR-Z 6MT's gear ratios is designed to utilize the low end torque from IMA. The torque-less L15A isn't a good choice here. What you really want is the 6MT from Fit RS. Even if you took out IMA and swap on a Fit RS powertrain, you still got no more than a Fit RS.

The basis package included the cams, rocker assembly, a test pipe, an intake manifold, and a flash pro if I remember correctly.
