DIY - Replacing the EX vanity mirror bulbs with LEDs

Hi All!

I'm researching to replace the bulbs in my EX vanity mirrors with LEDs. Could not find any documentation on this site, so I thought I would share the information I found with anyone interested. I'll post up some pics when I get the LEDs for this install.

Items you will need:
29-31mm x 6mm LED (see pics below for example)
1 mini flat screwdriver

It's very simple. Flip down the visors and lift up the covers on the mirror and lights. There is a small little notch on the bottom of the opaque light panel. You can use a small flat screwdriver to wedge in there and pop the panel off. Behind the panel you will find an incandescent bulb in the shape of a 31mm x 6mm fuse. Pry the bulb out with the small screwdriver. (Careful, the bulb may be hot.)

Replace with whatever LED color you decide to use. (Remember, LEDs are polarized. If it doesn't work one way, flip the bulb.) Replace the panel and your done.

I'm going with xenon white to match my dome, map, door and glove. But I may switch out to a warm white if the wife thinks it's too white\blue for her when putting on makeup and such.

Here are pics of the xenon in comparison to the warm white from a seller I found.

Dang, this is dope. What LEDs are you using? CREE? Nichia?

I'm slightly obsessed with LEDs.
