block heater

has anyone put in a block heater? I;m thinking about doing it, the guys over at cleanmpg.com say it should really help fuel efficiency.

Haven't done it yet bit I will before winter. Nice to have warm oil on a winter morning.

Cold start is the worst time for your engine/fuel consumption.
Mixture enrichment and increased oil viscosity etc.
A block heater means you start out with a warm engine = less wear, better efficiency and instant heat for defrost etc.

so being from south florida, this is both something i wouldn't be familiar with, nor have to worry about. still, i thank you for the information.

You're welcome - I don't recommend moving to England to 'enjoy' our crappy weather.

there's a reason they call it that lol! i lived in boston for 4 years and i'm glad to be back down south.

however, don't move to the US for many other reasons. i'd KILL to be in europe.
