I actually tried using hex bits at first. Wouldn't you know that the smallest size I have is 1/16.

I'll probably look for a different connector for the map lights to work with the tsx unit.

Also, to make things a little cleaner (and since I was already cutting/soldering/heat shrink tubing) I wired the constant power directly to the map light connector power wire.

Thanks again. Couldn't have done it without the great DIY

has anyone installed the sunglasses holder in a crz? I'd love to do it, but am not sure if it is too deep for the headliner.

So I had to take my unit down to check something, and when i screwed it back in place, the map light and reading lights arent working now. The homelink part still functioning correctly. Any ideas? I checked the "small light" fuse, but it looked fine.

If you are drawing Homelink power off the bulbs like in my DIY and the Homelink still works, then it's probably the ground. The ground for the map lights is one of the screws holding the switch assembly to the roof. Once they are screwed down tight the map lights should have ground and start working again.

Thanks. I tapped into the maplight power to power the homelink, so not sure if the ground would still be the issue. Ill check it out. I also noticed that none of the blue interior light are working... I borrowed a multimeter from a friend. Hopefully ill have time during lunch to see whats up.

Does the blue light intensity change any with the TSX module? The light that illuminates the console.

It's a brighter and a deeper blue than what's on the CR-Z. The CR-Z blue is a greenish-blue in comparison. I'll snap a pic one of these days.

I just completed this upgrade, I actually found a Homelink unit on ebay, from an '05 TSX that HAD the mic in it... mint condition, $50 shipped.
Anyway, this DIY is awesome, very clear and easy to follow, and worked like a charm! Thank you!!!

The pins are a biotch to get out, using the allen wrench, without destroying the connector, but I got it done. Thanks again for the great DIY!!
