Guess I need to look at the sidewall.

Or do you have larger optional wheels/tires package?
I thought they were, I thought I had read in the owners manual about them, maybe I am wrong, I will check the manual sometime, I could not find anything on the website. I have the base 16s. Either way, they suck, but I am not going to change them until they are dead.

I agree that they are not too hot. Easy to get them to make funny noises with not too much lateral force.

Grip is relative, and I do not expect much grip from anything factory. My major qualm with them is how the car tends to sway on them as they roll over. I have wear about 1 inch up the side of the tire! When at the limit and on non-perfect surfaces, the car kind of floats on the tires and it can make the whole thing very unstable.

Maybe leave trac on for the first few laps, after that, all it is going to do is overheat the brakes.
my stoptechs came in in time after all, so I didn't take it. I wouldn't want to do a whole weekend in it anyways, already had my wife's reluctant blessing to take her Z4 instead. I will try it for a session one day when its convenient though.

WDCR Home

http://www.wdcr-scca.org/LinkClick.a...edownload=true This is a .pdf of the regulations for an event in the spring, they are the same August 8, but the dates have changed.

I only run with the SCCA for a number of reasons (professionalism, proper driver group placement, driver skill level, quality of training, quality of workers, and mostly safety), but there are other groups. The main two at Summit Point being Friday at the Track (FATT) and NASA. They all cost about the same. If you work as a flagger for 3 days at a PDX you get one driving day free!

They will place you in a group based on your experience, you can contact, the people to contact about that are in the .pdf. The advanced group does not have an instructor, the others do. Do not be surprised if they put you in a group lower than you expected if you do not have much car experience and only motorcycle. They sometimes start people a little lower at first to check them out.

Hope to see you out there!
Thanks muddy!!

Agree with this comment - really can't stand stock tires.
Used to Eagle GTs on my Pontiac G6 (which is a boat compared to the Z and can take corners better right now).
I take the occasional turnaround a little too fast when in sport, and end up doing like a hop with stock tires. Bugs the **** out of me.
