Default Presenting the new Tein Street BASIS coilovers...$900.00 MSRP! IN STOCK NOW!

Recently Tein released a new line of coilovers for a number of applications -- the Tein Street Basis series. In many cases, these supercede the Tein Basic line, and in some cases they have created a brand new application with this lineup. Not only have they made the Street Basis line more affordable, but also more durable with revised coating and materials used in construction. Luckily for you CR-Z guys, they've decided to include the ZF1 CR-Z as part of this lineup.

PRODUCT FEATURES

NEW Internal Components

TEIN engineers have spent many hours developing new seals and internal components to improve durability and product life. This was one of their major goals for the new model.

“ZT” Corrosion Resistant Coating

Newly developed “ZT” coating for improved durability and hassle-free ride height adjustment. TEIN developed this coating in-house after stringent test and analysis procedures. TEIN engineers tested different coats, application methods, cleaning processes, etc… in our own brine salt water testing machine which simulates heavy solvents/ road salts used in cold weather climates.

Non-welded Adjustment Tube

Slip-fit threaded adjustment tube. Allows for damper body and threaded sleeve to be thoroughly coated for rust/ corrosion protection.

The slip-fit allows a more thorough coating on the threaded section as well as powder coated damper body.

Revised Spring Seat and Thrust Washer

Revised Aluminum Spring Seat and Delrin Thrust Washer are light weight and durable. This combination allows for smooth ride height adjustment. The new spring seats have a larger contact surface area and eliminate the need for a rubber spring seat.

The Street Basis from Tein for the CR-Z comes to the market with an MSRP of only $900!!! As always, please PM/Email/Call me for the absolute best pricing from a long time authorized Tein distributor, the pricing is borderline insane for a full height adjustable coil over setup from a well respected and reputable suspension company such as Tein. Oh yea -- We will be receiving a few sets in stock as of next week! At the price point, I don't see these last very long at all!

"Tein" Green is a staple of the industry! What's better than green coilovers for a green car? See what I did there?

Spring Rates appear to be 3.0K Front and 4.0K Rear.

Mike,

This system is designed for daily driving, street oriented performance in mind. It's not going to be super stiff by any means, although it will be more aggressive than the OEM ride just by the nature of the setup. The benefits in handling and feel will far outweigh the slight increase in stiffness from the OEM feel.

There is another thread here where the consensus from the various suppliers is...
Front: 2.3 kg/mm - Rear: 3.4 kg/mm

On another thread an individual experimented and came up with...
Front: 3.5 kg/mm - Rear: 3.0 kg/mm

This is still an open discussion - not sure there is an authoritative answer yet..

Thanks, thats what I was kinda getting at, and you answered exactly what I wanted to know as for daily driving wise how these will do...I really want to get coilovers vs just springs for the car and didnt want track performance stiffness but still beneficial compared to others for same cost, plus Tein is a name itself that I respect quite much...I really think this is what I am going to save up for, for my build =P Thanks again for the info Jason.
