You could fab up some sort of plastic and simply line the edge and the inside of the hood with Velcro and just slap them on when there's a foul weather prediction; though, water is going to get splashed up under your hood anyways when you drive through a puddle, or drive during rain. Your battery already gets wet. That's why when I replace or clean terminals on batteries (on un-modded cars) at work they have corrosion built up on them.
*And there is a can of a protective spray you can buy and put on both terminals if this is still a genuine concern for you* I have had my Seibon hood with vents in it for a year now; no rust (other than mild corrosion on that one piece that gets it even without an aftermarket hood), no problems. I thought the same thing when I purchased my hood, but in time I realized it's not really anything to be concerned about. The vents ARE over electronics. You can see the orange (covered&protected) hybrid battery cable through the vents on my hood; (again) no problems with it. Electronics are getting wet already without the hood having vents. I understand "but they'll get more wet now". I haven't had even close to an issue in Florida (where it rains daily) after a year. My carbon fiber hood (I didn't weigh It) weighs close to HALF what the OEM does- *by feel*, when I installed it myself. It is both functional, and flashy. I think it's a good purchase, drops weight & looks killer!
