Default CA Legal Parts

Hey Guys

I am looking to get a exhaust and intake. I was wondering if anybody knows if Noblesse center exhaust and HKS intake are California legal.

Thanks!

Yea, when your shopping just look to see if it is carb legal. Most legit products will provide this information..

The HKS for the CR-Z does not seem to be... You can check out the hks web site.

Any exhaust is fine as long as you don't alter or remove any smog devices (cats, O2 sensors, etc...). Basically any mid-pipe and axle back you choose is fine. There are no intakes that I know of that have an EO number (Executive Order) that is what you need to look for to have it legal in California; it must have an EO number.

I have a K&N intake, which is not smog legal in California, but I won't need a smog check for something like 5 to 7 years, so it doesn't really matter. I won't have this car longer than 3 years. I hope this helps.

At this time hybrid automobiles are exempt from the California vehicle smog testing program
Smog Information

So enjoy your intake

Even better! So anyone want to put together a custom turbo kit? Since we don't need to smog our cars, the flood gates are open.

Most aren't carb legal which is why you are having a hard time finding info on them. The ones that are prominently display or list it.

Good luck with your mods.

Isnt the AEM C.A.R.B. Legal? None of or cars need to be smogged for at least 3 more years anyways.

Last I looked AEM has CARB legal intakes, but the CRZ wasn't one of them. Most likely they are still going through the process since it is new.
