Default My take on the HKS Intake

I can never leave anything alone, especially since I am a custom powdercoater. I have gone with a blue accent theme on my black Z, so when I recently bought a used HKS Intake, I had to change it up before I install it.

Went with a candy blue with satin clearcoat on the piping and accessories, and wrinkle black on the hose clamps and heat shields.

Hope to get it on in the next few days.

went with bronze letters on the engine plate for a little variety

I had no idea that the clamps could be done and the coating would hold up. Very clean.

thanks. As for the clamps, powdercoat holds up just fine. Its actually a polyester plastic and is very flexible. Properly cured, I can coat a sheet of aluminum foil and then bend it back and forth all day without damaging it.

After much consideration, the satin look isn't really what I wanted after all. Stripping everything down to go with a different finish. Going to do a silver/black hammertone base then gloss candy blue topcoat instead. Sticking with the black wrinkle pieces though.

Pics tomorrow.
