Default P2R Downpipe too much noise?

With an aftermarket sport exhaust, how much of a difference in noise level (interior/exterior) is there by installing downpipe. Also...where did you feel most of the performance gains if any?

I had the P2R downpipe installed a couple days after I put in my cat back HKS exhaust which I installed a couple days after the HKS intake. The HKS exhaust is fairly quiet, it's just a little deeper than the oem exhaust, which I love. When I put on the downpipe it makes you notice the exhaust a lot more, but in a good way. I'm not a fan of big loud exhausts but the combo between the 2 let's others know there's something there without being obnoxious. Really quiet at idle and a little louder when stepping on it. Power gains aren't too crazy. You can feel the throttle is a lot more responsive and the car pulls a little more but that's it. MPG's are actually better as long as you're not on it all the time trying to feel the little bit more power.

Since it sits directly below you, the cat delete down pipe increases the cabin noise a bit.. no noticable change with the resonator/muffler and would assume the same with any aftermarket mid/catback system.. Not going to change the external sound significantly..

you hear the backfire / burble of any exhaust much more with a cat delete installed.

this is my experience from 3 exhausts and 2 cat deletes - the sound is much more aggressive and it does get louder outside of the car for sure.

I had a custom cat-back+mid pipe made by my local garage especially for the subtle sound. But after installing the P2R downpipe it defeated the purpose of 'subtle' in mind... but boy does it sound gorgeous when you put your foot down.

Not hearing it (additional backfire / burble) on the P2R downpipe with stock mid/axle back.. as was advertised on original P2R post and sales pitch.. which was one thing they got right..

on the stock exhaust you may not hear it but on an aftermarket exhaust you will. I heard the difference on each exhaust I had. I never ran catless with my stock exhaust so I'll take your word for it.

This only deletes the secondary cat; the primary is still there, so it wouldn't be catless is this case. The primary does most of the catalyzing anyway...
